Things to Check Before Buying Used Macs

While MacBooks are stylish and quite popular, but not everyone can afford to buy a brand new one. Therefore, many Mac buyers look at secondhand options. Used Macs are equally good as the new ones, provided they have received proper care. Needless to say, putting the machine through some tests to see if it works well is important. Here are some tests to make sure your money is well spent.
Check the physical state - It is important to carefully examine the physical condition of the Macbook. Check for the hinges by closing and then opening the laptop, because if they are loose then the repair would cost more money. The other perspective is to check all the external ports and make sure that all of them are in working condition. Also, look for any big dents, that might point to serious internal problems.

Look for the serial number - This is another important aspect which is often overlooked by buyers. The number is found on the bottom Macbook towards the hinges. Compare this serial number with the software. The serial number is a critical aspect when it comes to tracking the warranty and service information.
Battery condition - Another important aspect which buyers should look into before buying the Macbook. Replacing batteries is an expensive affair. To evaluate the condition of the battery, click on applications>utility>system information and then click on power where you will find the condition and cycle counter. Make sure that the status says normal.
These are some of the aspects which you need to check before buying used Macbooks.
Also, keep an eye for deals on Apple refurbished store or used Macs for sale or you can even pick a used Mac from local seller or websites selling used Macs.
